About katie mckenzie
Your psychologist
I’m a registered psychologist with a strong interest in supporting women through the many seasons of life, particularly around perinatal mental health, trauma recovery, eating disorders and relationship challenges. I work with warmth, integrity and compassion, drawing on a range of evidence based approaches including CBT, CBT-E, ACT, Schema Therapy, EMDR, DBT, Chairwork and Gottman informed couples counselling.
My therapeutic style is relational, trauma informed and client centred. I believe that meaningful change happens when a clients feel safe, seen and supported. Not just working through symptoms, but in reconnecting with their values, strengths and sense of self.
As a mum of two young children I understand both the joys and challenges that comes with motherhood. This lived experience deepens my empathy for the emotional and identity shifts that can accompany the perinatal period.
Outside of the therapy room I find calm and grounding in nature, especially when I am out for a walk or spending time with my horse Kite. My interest in nature based and equine assisted therapy continues to shape my holistic, body informed approach to mental health care.
At Seasons Psychology I aim to provide a space where healing feels both supported and sustainable, no matter what season of life you are in.
